FACTS

How will this building improvement be paid? It will be paid with tax dollars as Ms. Konkin's

business is based upon receiving a regular monthly cheque from The Ministry Of Social

Development.

The Ministry pays $375 maximum per month per SRO room.

It is common practice in Vancouver (and perhaps elsewhere) for the SRO

owners/managements (others who could possibly be slumlords) to charge more than the

government allotment for documented substandard living conditions. The shortfall (or

overcharge) is paid by the tenant.

Basic welfare is $610 per month – the shelter money ($375 paid directly to landlords) = $235.
If the landlord/slumlord overcharges (for example) $85 then $235-85=$150.

$150 per month to purchase: food, clothing, toiletries, transportation, medical supplies,

communication and start a retirement fund. Good for those slumlords.

PURE SPECULATION (no fact is included below)

If this Ms. Jenny Konkin, convicted slumlord, falls in line with the known common practice what

could be learned?

If the shortfall (or overcharge) is, purely as an example, $85 monthly the math works out like this:

85x82x12=$83,640 (if the illegal rooms are still illegal +$4080) per annum (tax dollars) that is

gouged out of the limited fixed incomes of her tenant/victims.

$83,640. Over and above what the Provincial Government deems adequate and pays annually

for the said accommodation ($369,000.per annum) (tax dollars).

$83,640 stolen.

$83,640 would easily pay the window replacement bill. I am sure this slumlord will thank each

and every tax payer in British Columbia.

THE ABOVE IS PURE SPECULATION AND CONTAINS NO FACT

Pure Speculation ends HERE

The rental register could end all speculation everywhere.

Re: an article (The Province: 15 September 2011) regarding the capitulation of yet another

Slumlord who was shamed after being chased for years into paying a one-time $18,000 (plus

Pacific Newspaper Group Showing Journalistic Integrity

The Pacific Media Group deemed this news, proclaiming and publishing many details

(possibly

facts). Everyone agrees with the Pacific Media Group's published stance: all evil slumlords

must pay.

Pacific Newspaper Group showing no ethics

On 15 September 2013 The Province (read: Pacific Newspaper Group; CEO & Publisher Mr.

Gordon Fisher) published an article (The Moral Question/Mr. Kent Spencer) regarding a Ms.

Jenny Konkin. The following fact (see below ) and others (see below) have been and continue

to be suppressed by the Pacific Newspaper Group.

.
At the Silver and Avalon Hotel a Ms. Jenny Konkin was charging the Ministry of Social

Development $375 per month (tax dollars) for four illegal rooms, “Chris Short (Vancouver Fire

Prevention Inspector) and I (Ms. Becky Innes, Property Use Inspector, City of Vancouver had a l

engthy conversation with the management that this area is not acceptable for living

accommodations.” (please check the facts below). Garnering 375x4x12= $18,000 per annum.

Exactly how much was garnered for how many months or years is yet a mystery.

Is this a fact one that the Premier of British Columbia should have known? Or the Loyal

Opposition?

psst: I recall, from my first four letters to the News Desk, the Faith Editor, the Editor-in-Chief and t

he publisher, Mr. Gordon Fisher, advising The Province/Pacific Newspaper Group : “Break the

tnews or be a part of the story.”

Great news for the tenant/victims of the 'management' team at the Silver and Avalon Hotel on

West Pender Street in Vancouver.

On 27 September 2013 a building inspection was started to perhaps replace the missing
windows in the rear of the hotel on the 668th day after the Tenant Review Board Order (File

#782145) dated 28 November 2011. (Please see the facts below)

This is marvellous news for the victimized men living in the hotel. But, has the heat been turned

on?

  When will construction begin?
